Howard Abrams has always had a deep-set commitment to giving back to his community whenever and wherever possible, so when one of his college friends approached the Abrams family a little over a year ago about joining Gratitude Generation, a non-profit organization that provides community-service opportunities in the Chicago area for children, families, and organizations, they both eagerly agreed to volunteer. Now, Howard and his wife are members of the Gratitude Givers Advisory Board, and Howard Abrams Law was a recent sponsor of the Gratitude Generation 6th Anniversary Gala that took place on February 23.
The annual fundraising event was dedicated to celebrating the organization’s 2023 achievements, which included directly impacting more than 41,000 people, and included a live and silent auction to help fund the program’s initiatives for 2024. Much to the delight of Howard’s daughter, the Abrams were winners of memorabilia from America’s newest power couple, coming home with an autographed Travis Kelce jersey and a shadowbox of Taylor Swift items, which were quickly claimed by the self-proclaimed Swiftie.
The Gala’s fundraising efforts were nothing short of impressive, meeting the goal of $25,000, which was then matched and doubled, resulting in a total of $50,000 raised. For Howard, these moments underscore the importance of community engagement, and he applauds the organization’s ability to provide families with an opportunity to not only donate money, but invest time in fostering life lessons for young people. Supporting Gratitude Generation is more than just a charitable act to the Abrams family, who see it as a commitment to building a better, more compassionate community for the next generation.
